Not sure what you're missing, but just posting to reassure that it's definitely possible. I got my NT8 setup to connect to both Apex Tradovate and Apex Rithmic accounts at the same time, with live data. For Tradovate, it should be simulation account for eval.

tradovate is what i like the most is so straightforward, the biggest drawback is that you cant manage multiple accounts as seamlessly as you can on ninja. Tradovate is also our recommendation. I think managing multiple accounts will be better in the future with Tradovate, since Tradovate is now part of NinjaTrader.

The mainstream data feeds are CQG and Rithmic. Some like Ninjatrader or Tradovate are based off of CQG. I haven’t used IB for futures before, but their reputation for data is pretty bad. They used to aggregate their data (unusable in scalping), and they still have API limits for third party platforms, and their fees and margins are shit. Apex now offers two different platforms.
