Yeah, so BC1-5 OR DXT1-3 compression are fine but add artefacts due to compression, it's unlikely you notice them most of the time. As a good practice I deliver a compresionless texture file saved in r8g8b8a8, which ends up as a big sized file of course, buy generally icons and hud should be left uncompressed and without nip maps.
