Theoretically the OEM shocks won't control the extra tire weight as well as with the OEM tires. Practically, no need to change shocks unless you want to or feel the need to. Some people say the OEM shocks are junk; I find no issues with 33" tires on OEM FX4 Sport shocks at 8 years old and 45k miles.

I know most people get their truck lifted to fit bigger tires. But I just want the higher looking and better clearance. Also the bigger tires are really expensive.
