I'm having a strange problem where my truck won't start. It only does it sometimes and usually first thing in the morning.Hello dears. Jan 26, 2011 · No crank, no start, followed by lots of lights. Last night, while 5 hours from home, my truck failed to start. The gauges all lit up, but the engine would not crank. Nothing else seemed out of the ordinary. I tried 5-6 times, and then took the key out for about a minute while contemplating what I was going to do. 3. Get a piece of steel pipe (also doubles are a socket wrench handle extension) or a metal rod, something that can reach the starter from the engine compartment. 4. Locate the starter on the engine. If that wire checks out (continuity, normal resistance), check a dark green wire with an orange stripe going into the TIPM.
