95 wrangler overheating. I just bought a 95wrangler about a month ago. Ran fine for couple weeks, then while idling in driveway started overheating. I changed radiator cap first. Then thermostat. Then saw water pump wasnt spinning and changed that. Mar 25, 2019 · Sorry to say that is pretty normal for a 3.6 JK. 203-240 temps are a regular occurrence and my JK overheats pretty much every time I go off road. Computer will turn on the fan at 226F. But it will not be able to keep up with cooling. So this is a sad reality of a 3.6 in a jk.

Thermostat is not that old (about a year) so I replaced the PCV valve which was toast (and quite a pain in the arse). At idle or even low speeds (45-50) it’s fine.
