You keep your 5 hybrid, but you have to search/unlock club sets that you like the look of that contain a 5 hybrid as a skin for it to change. Unfortunately it sounds like the set you are trying to apply that you like doesn't contain a 5 hybrid skin so it uses one from another set. OK, thanks! #6.

I was able to change the player character's appearance once the MyCareer campaign had started so it was only the first cut-scenes that had the old character. Not ideal but I'm okay with it now.
