I just purchased a Model 30A and put a William's FP-94-36 on it. It won't adjust low enough to match up with the original front sight. I called William's and was told I need a .570" tall front sight with wide dovetail. He also shot me the part numbers for the front sights they sell. The 3084 Mountain Man Commemorative was made in 1984 for the Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company (OTASCO). It is the same gun as the Marlin Model 30A, and will have the same value. These commemoratives made for OTASCO are not to collectable, and do not command a premium over any other Model 30A.

The Glenfield 30A is/was the cheaper version of the Marlin 336. Then Marlin discontinued the Glenfield line. They still made the guns, but now called the Marlins. Hi everyone, I recently installed a Williams receiver peep on my recently refinished glenfield 30a. After installing the peep sight and included front finer optic sight, I hit the range. Upon shooting with the peep sight, I realized that I'm about a foot high at 50 yards even with the elevation adjustment on the peep as far as it will go.
