I bought a used 600 cfm Edelbrock carburetor, and then bought a rebuild kit and rebuilt it, I use it on my work truck and it runs greatStep 4. Seat the flat-head screwdriver in the left mixture screw. Turn the mixture screw clockwise while counting each complete turn until the mixture screw butts up against the body of the carburetor. Write down the number of complete turns. Re-adjust the air screw until the idle once of the engine again falls between 700 and 900 rpm.I used Pinesol to soak an Edelbrock carb . I left the carb in way too long and it took the nice shiny finish off the carb and the cad plating off the linkages and other parts. It was clean though and it smelled pretty good.
