yes, my doctor was happy to prescribe the 1 mg dose pen when I asked. At first she said that it wasn't marked to take a .5 dose but when I explained about counting clicks, she was fine with that. And she's also fine with me deciding when I want to up my dose from .5, so having the higher dose pen gives me the flexibility to do that.
