In addition to their hourly pay for taking classes, in-home caregivers will receive incentive payments that start at $500 for 15 hours of training. The CalGrows program is funded by the federal American Rescue Plan Act. The American Rescue Plan Act provided states with increased funding for certain expenditures for home and community-based services. CDA received $150 million to design a one-time program to incentivize and support career pathways for the non-IHSS direct care HCBS workforce.
