Honda says there should be no continuity between the yellow stator wires and ground, but I do get an Ohm reading there.

Suspect that the CDI module (stator) is bad and service manual says to replace it with a known "good" module. This module costs about $250 and I hate to order one with out knowing for sure that the CDI is my problem.
My understanding is to test between 1-2 1-3 an 2-3 yet looking at the specs I see 1990-on 2 stroke except 400 w/200 watt alternator yellow/red-yellow=.3 ohms and black/red-brown/white=120 ohms although that only gives me 2 readings not 3 as I’m supposed to make 3 tests at connector.
Just like mentioned above. Remove the stator connector and use your digital volt-ohm meter to test between the 3 wires. Set your DVOM on AC volts and probe 2 of the 3 wires with engine running at idle. Then switch one of the leads to the other yellow wire.
