With their chosen weapon group, although IMHO additional scaling proficiencies are a bit too easy to get from archetypes. which I've been told +1 is roughly 15-20% DPR which if that's true the Fighter has 30-40% extra DPR baseline over other martials, free. The math isn't super-linear and how much a +1 is worth varies.
