Idle timing for that motor is 0-2 ATDC and speed is 775-825.. Idle RPM is adjusted with the IDLE timing screw, which adjusts the timing at idle only. Hi. I have a 1985 Johnson 100 hp commercial outboard. The model number is J100WMLCOC. I cannot find the wot timing spec anywhere. I have looked many times on the net and here with no luck. What I am seeing is cranking at wot with the timer base rubber stop hitting it's stop is 21 degrees. Of course at wot this should equate to 25 degrees.Then push the magneto control arm all the way until it hits the full advance stop. Look up underneath the edge of the flywheel and see if mark "a" on the flywheel is lined up with mark "b" on the timing plate base. That is full advanced. The bolt at the high speed end goes though a hole so that end cannot really be adjusted. The bolt at the low speed end goes through a slot so there is about 1/4" of adjustment on that end.
