Glock 17. The Glock is a time-proven design. The G17 works every time, is accurate, feeds anything, is low-maintenance, is easy to clean and works well if uncleaned, is very comfortable to shoot and has more readily available parts and accessories available. I prefer the XD grip, but that's about it.

I have owned the Glock models 17, 19, 26, 36, 22, and 27. I have owned the XD models 45C, 9SC and recently purchased a XD40. Overall, I like the Glocks more than the XD's. The Glocks are lighter and balance better in the hand and I like the Glock's trigger more than the trigger on the XDs.The 185 gr .45 caliber bullet would have 37% more mass than the 135 gr .40 caliber bullet and would present about a 27% larger cross section before expansion.
