May 8, 2013 · Yeah, it's a 3500 and the customer told us afterwards he put the parts on for his towing and fuel mileage. It's just shit luck like all the other cranks that have broken in the past. This one looks to have broken at the back though, because I can rotate the flywheel about 1" without turning the engine

After consulting with many folks who work on Duramaxes that seems to be the only common issue with broken cranks is the possibility that the balancer has gone bad.
