While having a great oil filter discussion tonight I looked up a great cross reference guide. This guide has all the filters listed that will fit all types of bikes. Our 1300 and 1800 are listed in group 5.Replace the drain plugs, making sure they have their respective crush washers. Torque both drain bolts to 22 foot-pounds. Step 7. Pour in 3.5 quarts of HP4 synthetic 10W40 engine oil. The VTX1800 takes 4 quarts of oil, so check the oil after you pour in the first 3.5 quarts to see if the engine will take the last half quart. Step 8.
